Blown fuse in A/C

Blown fuse in A/C

It’s frightening when a hurricane is predicted to make landfall nearby.

This happens at least a few times a year where I live.

Most of the time, we’re lucky and it doesn’t end up coming anywhere near us. This time though, it did make landfall in our city. Our property is zoned in a relatively safe area so we just got extra soup and some water and then we waited it out. It got really windy and the power went out as the hurricane approached. That meant that the air conditioner turned off as well. It got pretty hot and humid after a few hours. Thankfully, the power came back on in the morning. But unfortunately, the air conditioner did not turn back on with the power. I called up an air conditioner repairman and then I hoped it wouldn’t cost too much money to fix the issue. I was thinking of all of the things that might have happened to cause our air conditioner to stop working. Everything from some sort of wind damage to electrical damage from the rain went through my mind. I was fairly certain we would have to pay a few thousand dollars to get our air conditioner fixed. I was very happy when that turned out not to be the case. The air conditioner repairman came out and explained that a fuse had blown in our air conditioning system. Instead of the entire air conditioning system frying, a fuse blows and protects the system. He replaced the fuse and now our air conditioner works great again.
