Building up my HVAC business with blood sweat and tears

Building up my HVAC business with blood sweat and tears

Sweat equity is what they call it when you invest your time, your skills, and your effort into something, usually a home or a business. You are building value with what you put into it, and this is what I have been doing the last few months. Working full time for no pay is very difficult, I won’t lie, but I look at it as an investment in the future. One day, hopefully soon, all my work will pay off and then that sweat equity will convert in real dollars-and-cents equity. I am one of six guys with construction and contracting backgrounds who opened up a custom HVAC system business. We have two HVAC technicians, a builder, a roofer, an electrician, and me, a metal worker who specializes in air ducts, vents, and grates. I have my own metal shop, where I make my own sheet metal and custom build ductwork for custom jobs. We have been getting a lot of work on spec to start with, and we need to step up and deliver the best HVAC systems people have ever seen. That will generate word of mouth, which will start getting us paying HVAC clients on new builds. I have been in talks with a contractor about to start construction on a new recording studio, which will have very specific HVAC needs. I assured this man our team could create any kind of climate control system, to any specifications. What’s more, we could make it completely hidden, so it could run silently and maintain cooling without ever being noticed.
