The other night, we had such a wind storm that it was howling through the cracks in the windows.
It is common to have high winds in our area. Whenever the weather changes, the wind ushers in the new cold or warm front. We don’t bat an eyelash when our wind speeds peak at sixty miles an hour. When they were calling for high winds followed by heavy rain, we just took it in stride. It wasn’t until I heard glass breaking that I even gave it a second thought. My wife and I decided to check out the damage after the storm was over. None of our windows were broken, so we felt secure. When we got up in the morning, we found out that the light on the back porch had been broken by the wind. The glass wasn’t all over the porch, but somehow it had ended up on the air conditioning unit. I tried to carefully clean all the glass off the air conditioning unit, with a whisk broom. Unfortunately, I was sure that I had swept some of the glass into the AC unit. I called the HvAC company and told them what had happened. I wanted to know if there was a possibility of some of the glass cutting the wiring or one of the hoses inside the AC unit. It didn’t take long for the HVAC company to check out the AC unit and determine that everything was okay, which put my mind at ease. I was really concerned about the possibility of glass damaging something inside the AC unit.
