I called my manager and she was not happy with my not coming to work.
I have been living in the same apartment building for the last three years. I have also been working for the same company for almost five years. Over the last year, we have been having a lot of problems with our HVAC system, in the apartment building. I often wish I had been living in a home of my own. I would be able to purchase a good HVAC system and keep it running well, if I owned the building. Since I was renting, I had no recourse but to remain at the mercy of my landlord. At least once a month over the last year, I have had to call the maintenance company about my air conditioning or my heating going out. I talked to the landlord and he told me he would have the HVAC company come out and look at the air conditioning last month. He told me that I would need to stay at the apartment until they arrived. Now, I have been told that I had to stay home and wait for the HvAC company for the third time. I called my manager and she was not happy with my not coming to work. She told me she needed someone she could depend on and left me go from my job. I had to have air conditioning or I wouldn’t be able to breathe in my apartment. Now, I’m not even sure if I will have an apartment with or without air conditioning since I don’t have a job to pay the rent. I should have chosen going to work over needing air conditioning.
