Of all the stressful things I have experienced in my life, I think I would put moving right up there in the top of the stress list.
Moving comes with a sizable list of headaches, including packing, hiring a mover and unpacking.
I took the time to make sure everything was packed well and marked so I knew what room it was to go into. This was to be my final move because I was moving into my dream home. My home had radiant heated flooring and I stressed this to the movers. I wanted them to be very careful with our furniture when putting it down onto the flooring. We have one antique piece of furniture that is really heavy. Instead of putting the heavy chair onto a dolly, two of the movers decided they should carry it into the house. They must have lost their grip on the chair because I could hear it slam down onto the flooring even from upstairs. I ran down the stairs just in time to see the one mover checking out the crack in my flooring. They had split the wooden floor tile, in half. I could have cried when I looked at my beautiful radiant heated flooring and wondered if the movers had damaged the heating system along with the floor tile. I called the HVAC company so they could come out and check out the flooring and replace the wood floor tile for us. They told me that the radiant heating was safe, but they had to order a couple of new wood tiles so they could repair the flooring.
