I would like to imagine that people who do drugs can get away from them and learn how to live normal lives… It would be good to imagine that everyone could come scrub and be productive.
However, it has been my experience that this isn’t a usual occurrence, and that is sad.
I am the owner of one of the largest Heating and A/C companies in our town, and I honestly try to make a difference in these people’s lives. I guess that there are a lot of businesses that won’t hire anyone that has a history of drug abuse, which is why I try to hire these people in my Heating and A/C dealer. However, I don’t instantly make them Heating and A/C contractors or begin their Heating and A/C training, first, these new Heating and A/C employees begin as helpers for our Heating and A/C contractors. I consistently want these people laboring closely with our Heating and A/C contractors so that we can watch them, every one of us still pay these people well, and it is our hope that these men grow into good Heating and A/C contractors. However, I have had a lot of trouble with hiring drug abusers into our Heating and A/C dealer; A lot of them begin using drugs only a few weeks into their work for the Heating and A/C dealer. Every one of us do a lot of random drug tests, and we fire these people before they can ever become Heating and A/C contractors! Some of these people try stealing stuff from the people whose gas oil furnaces or air conditioners we are trying to fix, and even more of them are doing drugs on the job site. I don’t assume that I have ever had one of them become an Heating and A/C contractor.
