One of the worst Christmas of my life was 3 years ago.
I had just obtained my first house, and the two of us were so excited to decorate for the holiday. I wanted to go all out! Christmas trees, colorful lights, and festive garland was going to take over the house! The afternoon the two of us got our tree was the afternoon that everything went wrong. It was a undoubtedly chilly afternoon, and the two of us had set up the space furnace near the sofa where the two of us were enjoying the afternoon news. I did not realize that the furnace was still on when the two of us left the condo for a holiday celebration, about an sixth into the celebration, the two of us received a call from the neighbors. They told us that there was smoke coming from our house! I did not guess that this was happening. All of us rushed beach condo to find various fire trucks and an ambulance outside of the house. The space furnace had caused our christmas tree to catch on fire. I was so mad at myself for not checking to see if the space furnace had been unplugged before leaving for the celebration. The rest of the condo was fine, however the dining room and dining room needed to be repaired. That small furnace caused so much damage that evening! After the fire, I am always cautious of people who use space furnaces in the winter. It is so important to make sure these are turned off before leaving the house. The fresh christmas tree in my condo was most likely what started the fire.
