Learning from last summer

After the sun went down I took them to the family pool down the street

Last season was a scorcher, and I assume I say this every year, but I suppose it was the hottest warm season I’ve ever experienced, and for two or three months there it was dangerously hot, where I wouldn’t even let myself and others men go to the swimming pool down the street! The people I was with and I stayed indoors except for in the night and at night, just because I didn’t want to risk any of the little kids getting too hot. That is undoubtedly real occasion when the heat gets so high, so for much of the warm season we stayed in, watched films, and enjoyed the A/C, after that first week the men started getting a little stir crazy, and were tired of watching films, but I explained how crucial the AC was this time of year. The people I was with and I went outside in the backyard for a few hours, then went back into the cooling of the house, and then back outside. As this all went down, I explained how the incredible heat and bright sun could sap the energy from us, and so while the sun was in the sky we needed to try and use temperature control as much as we could. After the sun went down I took them to the family pool down the street. That was all nice and well, but even at night it was uncomfortably hot out there with no A/C. The rest of the warm season went by undoubtedly slowly, and the men ended up finding escape from the house in air conditioned locales enjoy the mall and the local library.
