Dehumidifier reduces cost of air conditioner

The Summer weather in my local section is particularly brutal.

  • Despite the date on the calendar, we are faced with extreme heat plus humidity by the end of May.

The high temperatures plus excessive moisture are a complication until late September. The cost of running the a/c is a large drain on the budget. I’m always looking for ways to improve comfort plus trim expenses. I’ve taken every opportunity to tighten up the house plus prevent energy waste. I make sure to close the curtains during the day to keep the glare of the sun from heating up the house. I’ve installed ceiling fans to help push the heat up toward the ceiling plus minimize the workload of the a/c. One of the most beneficial investments was the replacement of a whole-condo dehumidifier. I first consulted with a local Heating, Ventilation and A/C contractor plus discussed the benefits of the various makes plus models of dehumidifiers on the market. I wanted a machine that would operate quietly plus require undoubtedly little repair. I’d tried portable dehumidifiers plus found that they are constant work, then failing to empty the reservoir regularly resulted in sitting water plus a source for contaminants. I was also hoping the dehumidifier would allow myself and others to adjust moisture levels to preference. Incorporating the dehumidifier into the cooling plan has significantly improved the comfort of the home. I’ve been able to raise the thermostat setting by several degrees plus yet the indoor environment feels cooler; Because the a/c isn’t running as often or for as long of cycles, I’ve seen a drastic decrease in my monthly electric bill. Plus, the a/c experiences less wear plus tear plus should last longer plus operate more reliably.
