I guess, from the reaction of others, that zoning completely out while in a conversation is weird.
To me, it seems pretty natural given that if I zone out, then I’m so totally not interested.
Normally, I can at least feign interest and sort of follow along when someone is just jabbering at me. However, there are times when I just simply check out and have no plan what was said after I checked out. When I come apartment to sit in the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C comfort of my house and 1 of my children comes to talk to me, I don’t zone out. It’s pretty much with boring, pompous adults that I take mental leave. Actually, I am a fairly attentive person. I believe most of my family and friends will attest to that. The recent Heating, Ventilation, and A/C situation is a prime example. While out mowing the lawn a few weeks ago, I thought I heard something unusual with the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C. So, I stopped the lawnmower and just listened as the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C ran. What caught me was that there was a unusual sound however that wasn’t the only thing. I noticed that the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was sort of shimmying a bit. I went inside to have a look on the internet and found that this was not a great thing. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C people came out and tested that the fan was out of balance. They were able to absolutely fix it. Had I not been paying attention, this could have cost me a giant sum to fix.
