Tick-Tock, Thump-Thump, as well as HVAC

Tick-Tock the Crocodile is a character in the 1953 animated film Peter Pan by Walt Disney! As the story goes, he devoured Captain Hook’s hand while I was in a battle between Hook as well as the title character, and somewhere in the film, he manages to eat a ticking alarm clock.

The swallowed clock thwarts his goal of eating the rest of the evil captain because it can be heard as Tick-Tock draws near.

Another story about a different sound is the Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe. The main character commits a murder as well as buries the victim under the floorboards of his house. The murderer’s guilt causes him to hear the thump-thump of a beating heart, presumably the heart of the deceased! When Peter Pan came out, almost everyone did not have a/c so they would often go to the filmplex to cool off. The Tell-Tale Heart was written 110 years earlier so Poe did not recognize that his story was a premonition to the horrors of a faulty HVAC system. There are many reasons that an HVAC system will begin to make funny or even scary noises that can drive a homeowner insane. What starts as a rhythmic tick-tock noise can turn into a thump-thump that may not wake the dead but can keep you from having a enjoyable night’s sleep. There is no need to fear being eaten by an HVAC device but if you fail to act on the tick-tock, thumping or many other noises, the pleaseds of your purse will be consumed. To prevent that, don’t call Peter Pan because he never grew up, but instead, call a qualified HVAC professional as soon as you hear any different noise coming from your HVAC system.
