Check your thermostat unit first

Check your thermostat unit first

If you happen to be having some issues with your heating and cooling system in your home, let me give you a piece of friendly advice.

Always check your thermostat before you do anything else.

Don’t waste your money on calling your local residential heating and cooling company to come and check your HVAC system out for you. You’re going to have to pay them for a service call, whether they find anything wrong with your HVAC system or not. And believe me, sometimes there’s really nothing wrong with your heating and cooling system. Don’t ask me how I know this! Well, I guess I should tell you anyway. I learned the hard way that you should always check your thermostat unit before you do anything else if you’re having any issues with your HVAC system. I thought that my air conditioning was completely torn up last summer when I tried to turn in on and nothing happened. It was a hot week and so I ended up calling the local HVAC company to have them send someone out to fix it for me. I had to pay a very expensive air conditioning service repair bill, and it was even more expensive because it was on a holiday weekend. It turned out that the only problem was that my thermostat needed new batteries. I wasted a whole lot of money that day when all I really needed was a new pack of batteries. Not only did I waste a lot of money on an unnecessary air conditioning repair appointment, but I was pretty embarrassed!
