My brother and I come home from school regularly to an empty house.
Both of our parents have their work until 6 p.m.
and they don’t get home until dinner time usually. My brother and I have been coming home from school to an empty dwelling, every day for quite a few years. The two of us pretty much have a routine that includes performing our chores, working on homework, and helping with dinner. My brother and I usually get back to the dwelling from school around 4:30 in the afternoon. The two of us are rarely alone in the dwelling for more than a few hours. Both of us are adolescents, so it certainly isn’t a big deal to leave us alone. Regrettably, we don’t regularly know how to handle tough situations. Not very long ago, my brother and I came home from school and the dwelling was almost 90 degrees. The air conditioner appliance was supposed to be running, but neither of us could feel any nippy air coming out of the vents… Even when the air conditioner appliance sounded as if it was running, there was still no frosty air in the room. My brother called my father at work, although he didn’t answer. He called back and told us not to worry. He immediately called an air conditioner appliance repair service and they arrived at the dwelling a few hours after my father arrived back home. I don’t know what was going on with the air conditioner appliance, but the problem was taken care of before my brother and I went to sleep for the remainder of the night.
