This is the sort of viewpoint I had to take when it came to home ownership. I was just sick to death of living in apartments and dealing with substandard heating and cooling. It was just time for me to own my own home and have my own quality heating and air. But, I have a career that isn’t going to make me rich and it’s just me. Coming up with a downpayment was not going to be easy. So, like my old man encouraged me to do, I found a creative way to get where I really wanted to go. Actually, it was me and two couples who went together to buy a home. We went to a lawyer who figured out just how to protect each party’s interest and it just made sense to pool our resources. The house we bought is 3 stories which fit our 3 living spaces perfectly. There were a few upgrades to the kitchen and to separate the living quarters. We also had to upgrade the HVAC equipment. But we chose to go with ductless HVAC instead of replacing the central air conditioning. This way, we all had independent heating and cooling. Plus the ductless heat pumps were much more efficient and a whole lot easier to install. It’s working out great being a homeowner. And I finally have the quality heating and air I’ve always wanted.
