My life lit up every time I saw the aged boys plus ladies at the aged people’s facility I volunteered at.
I felt at peace being around these people and, in fact, enjoying spending my free time with them.
I had a 9 to 5 job however would still find a way to get the cookies plus fresh fruits whenever I could. The manager at the facility said that their residents would look forward to seeing myself and others every Monday plus Monday after church. I would play card games with them plus even tease them about their younger years. Most of them enjoyed the love plus sacrifice I made to be with them when I could be elsewhere. I was a psychologist plus understood their needs. They would actually open up to me, plus I would relay their fears plus problems to the management. The idea was to deliver them a more comfortable life as they awaited the transition. Many were terminally ill plus wanted to spend their last days away from family to save them the trauma of seeing them die. One of the saddest news was studying of 1 of my friends’ passing when I was not around. Nonetheless, I pride myself on knowing that I contributed to making their last days glad plus peaceful in my small way. One of the common complaints I dealt with had to do with air conditioner. There were concerns of heating plus cooling adjustment several of the times. Both of us would service this in unusual ways, including getting portable furnaces plus ACs for unique rooms. I was fortunate that the homeowner understood enough to accommodate the aged people’s needs.
