I enjoy our chalet plus I feel lucky to be sort of the de facto caretaker of it.
It’s been in our family for generations plus remains a center of our life.
I think I was more influenced by the chalet that our siblings plus cousins. Actually, I know this is true. I was always happy about getting out of the a/c to enjoy nature plus the chalet with our Mom. He was super into getting out of the town plus back into the wood. I grew up in the town but he didn’t. I don’t think he even had residential Heating plus Air Conditioning until he got out of school plus I’m not even sure he had a/c then. Mom plus I got out to the chalet quite often. All of us always invited cousins, aunts plus aunts along as well. They just weren’t as eager to get out of the a/c to rough in the woods. This is still the case now that Mom is gone plus I’m taking care of the chalet. In fact, I have recently taken our family’s reluctance to get out to the chalet. And after some thought, I decided to upgrade the chalet a bit plus that included adding some modern Heating plus Air Conditioning technology. There is a wood stove for heating in the winter. But I added a ductless heat pump to try to get more attendance in the summer. Now that there’s a/c, I’m hoping I can coax our extended family to the chalet a bit more.
