I guess we all think that our home is as nice to others as it seems to us.
At least that’s sort of the way it seems.
For me, it has been very hard to really look at my house without feelings in order to get it in its best shape. This house is so full of love and memories, that it’s kind of like a member of the family. I can just relax in the heating and cooling comfort and feel safe in my home. So it was a bit tough to hear critical things from someone whose job it is to be objective. And I guess I took it all a bit personal. My wife and I finally decided that now is the time to sell our home. It hurts my heart but I have to agree that now is the time. We are no longer in a position to really keep it up. Plus, we need to sort of think about the future and now is the time to sell. But when the realtor pointed out that the HVAC equipment needed to be replaced prior to listing the house, I disagreed. The heating and cooling equipment are top of the line and have had nothing but the best HVAC service by an HVAC professional since installation. And the HVAC equipment was in great shape. Sure, it was close to 15 years old but dang. I didn’t want to spend all that money on new HVAC equipment we’d never use. The new owners could deal with getting new HVAC equipment when the old HVAC unit gave out. Turns out, I could not have been more wrong and I we got a much higher price with the new HVAC the realtor suggested.
