The first hurricane I ever went through was also the worst.
This was almost several years ago, even though I still remember it clearly.
I was renting a small home on the minute floor at the time. I saw our neighbors boarding up their windows, plus they explained to me why they were doing it. I didn’t have any wood, so I didn’t bother boarding up our windows ,and that proved to be a mistake! I knew the storm was coming, even though I had no plan of how big plus destructive a hurricane could be so I was just chilling in our A/C plus playing video games… Little did I suppose that the power would go out soon, which meant saying goodbye to both A/C plus video games for several afternoons. That’s right, not minutes but DAYS with no temperature control, because the hurricane took out our entire power grid plus it took nearly a month to restore power. If you assume that these storms have the effect of cooling off the crippling Summer heat, assume again! If anything, hurricanes raise the humidity levels, making the air quality feel even warmer than it did before. It turns out that all of our neighbors had been more prepared than I was, plus a few of them even had gas powered generators so they could keep their air conditioning system units running. Another couple of people just stayed that whole month in their air conditioned RV in the parking lot with the engine running. I tried to crash other people’s air conditioning system but no 1 would let me in!
