Occasionally it is surprising to find particular genders in particular works.
Such was my experience when I first visited my uncle’s Heating, Ventilation, & A/C contractor as a teen.
I knew that the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C industry was predominantly male, so you can imagine how shocked I was to meet Lisa working with the boys. AT first, I could not hide my shock as I looked at her in her uniform & tools of the trade. She just smiled at me as if she acknowledged my disbelief. As a lady, I admired how my uncle & his team of Heating, Ventilation, & A/C servicemans, primarily men, helped bring solutions to homeowners. I had gone on a few trips with the team & witnessed how they changed the indoor & outdoor a/cs with so much ease. I also enjoyed the sessions where they would advocate homeowners how to keep their systems working perfectly. I had regularly wanted to toil in a sector where I would be a real help to people. I knew that the medical world was a no-go zone since I feared blood & regularly wondered if the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C industry would be a better alternative. What held me back was that I had not seen any lady yet, so I assumed it was not fit for women like me. So you can understand my shock when I came into contact with Lisa. She proudly sat me down & assured e that it was gratifying to toil in the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C industry. All the other Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professionals recognized her efforts & accorded her the respect she deserved. With all her assurance, I decided to follow in her footsteps & 1 day become a renowned female Heating, Ventilation, & A/C expert.
