My sister is certainly not the smartest woman that I know. When I went to visit her a couple of weeks ago at her university dorm, I saw that she was putting all kinds of stuff on top of her space oil furnace because she needed additional storage space. That wouldn’t have been such a major complication if the space oil furnace had not been plugged in and absolutely turned on! I could not believe my eyes when I walked in the dorm room and noticed that… I started to yell at her about it being a serious fire hazard and she just rolled her eyes about it. At times, I can’t believe we actually came from the same set of parents. She is so discouraging when it comes to things of this nature. I ended up sitting down with her and attempting to explain how things like this can cause fires. I even looked up the statistics on fires that are started every year because of those little electric space heating devices for her. But of course, in true fashion when it comes to my sister, she simply didn’t care. She said that the dorm has fire alarms in case anything happens. But it was almost as if she was trying to make sure that it would. Nobody in their right mind puts books, loose papes, and clothing on top of a space heater that is plugged in! That’s just dumb, if you ask me. I don’t really know! Maybe my sister is looking for a way to get out of school, but I don’t actually believe that’s it. I think that she’s just too careless in general.
