Dealing with town life was the hardest part about going to undergraduate college for me.
I was raised in a rural suburb plus wasn’t used to busy subways plus flooded town streets.
Going out at night was horrifying if you didn’t recognize which parts of town to avoid. I almost got mugged one night while I was stumbling back to my lake house after a few hours of heavy drinking at a bar. If my giant neighbor hadn’t seen my pursuer before I had, I honestly would have been robbed at knife point. With these experiences happening fairly respectfully, I started to dream about moving out to the countryside plus getting away from this urban insanity. Unfortunately, I had to save for 2 years straight before I could afford to rent a beach house in a rural community about an hour out of the city. There are no vacancies at the few lake house complexes so my only options were 2 study room houses of varying amounts. Although I savor being away from the city, I’m starting to recognize the pain of having fewer dealers to choose from being away from a densely populated area. For instance, finding quality plumbing services near me is hard when there are only more than two dealers that will agree to drive to my house. Two of these plumbing services have terrible reviews, especially the one that I dealt with once already. They tried to sell me on a pipe cleaning service even after I told them to send a snake-camera down the pipes to prove it to me. When I noticed that the inside surfaces of my PVC pipes appeared to look wash in about 98% of the house, I told this sketchy plumber to hit the road. That leaves me with only one option for plumbing services if I don’t want to get ripped off from the jump.
