Shortly after she and our up-to-date sibling-in-law got back from their honeymoon, our little sibling wanted to throw a little supper get together at their up-to-date condo for about a dozen people.

• I wanted to be there to support her, of course, although I had our doubts about her ability as a hostess.

She’s never entirely been good at that kind of thing, although I thought that maybe she was making strides in becoming better at it. However, after the supper get together that she put on, I’m now not so sure about that at all. It wasn’t that the food wasn’t good or anything like that. She entirely did entirely well with the menu and with being hospitable. The complication that the people I was with and I ended up having was the fact that she had the control unit settings way too high in the house. I assume she wasn’t factoring in the fact that there was going to be all of that body heat in her kitchen and her living room. Since the weather outside was entirely cold, I guess that she had it in her mind that she needed to turn the control unit up so that her guests would be comfortable. However, it ended up being a big issue for us because with all of the extra bodies in the house, the place got hotter and hotter inside! By the time the people I was with and I had our salads and some bread, I was dripping with sweat like silly and wishing for some A/C. The heating from the furnace was absolutely relentless, though. I kept trying to signal our sibling that she needed to go split the heat down on the control unit, however she just never entirely got the message. I guess everybody was pretty annoyed because nobody wanted to stick around after dessert.
