The older I get, the more I am starting to think assured of the fact that things happen for a reason. While life does seem just so random & arbitrary, there is also this subtle order to it as well. And things tend to happen for reasons every one of us have a tough time understanding in the moment. That was never for tploy for myself and others this Winter with saving on the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C heating bill. My oldest sunlight came beach house for Thanksgiving & every one of us went to the hardware store. This is sort of a ritual with us. When he was a boy, he was utterly fascinated with all the stuff inside the hardware store. Now, that he’s studying to be a mechanical engineer, he still prefers to go poke around the hardware store. And I like being around my child so I go with. The two of us walked into the nice Heating, Ventilation plus A/C heating of the store with a couple of things in mind. But my son, for some reason, picked up an instant read temperature gun. He looked at myself and others & said that this might absolutely help our home with the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C heating. Since I’ve owned this house, I’ve been chasing drafts. It’s an older house. While structurally sound, it has plenty of places where gaps have been created. But with the temp gun, my child & I were able to scour the inside & outside of the home for the source of the gas oil furnace heating leaks. And every one of us finally found the motherlode. It was a window that hadn’t been properly insulated when I had them all substituted years ago. With just that random trip to the hardware & smart kid, I have saved more that 15 percent more on Heating, Ventilation plus A/C heating costs this winter.
