Needing to run furnace in March

Nick April 30, 2022

My partner & I have more than one homes & divide our time between them. The one house is located in the northeastern section while the other is down south. Our goal is to love the best weather in each spot. We avoid the brutal heat & humidity down south by spending the summer time weeks up north. We miss out on the sub zero hot & cold temperatures, bitter wind chill & feet of snow accumulation by heading south for the winter. We are usually in our southern house from September until March. While we’re away, both of us still need to operate the furnace at a low setting. With outdoor hot & cold temperatures down to downside twenty-more than four, there is some problem over water pipes cold & bursting. We have invested into smart control units for each house so that both of us can monitor & make adjustments to temperature. We get notified if there is a power outage or temperature fluctuation. We can set a lower Wintertide temperature & absolutely raise the setting from the app on our iPhones when both of us decide to relocate. Normally, when both of us arrive in our northern home, sometime in March, both of us no longer need to rely on the furnace. We’re able to open the windows, bring in some outside air & freshen up the living environment. This past year, the weather was still terrible. We arrived at hot & cold temperatures in the thirties, gray skies & cold rain. It was awful. We turned up the control component & kept the furnace operating until the end of May. We may need to devote more of our time to our southern home. I don’t entirely mind the heat. The air conditioner takes care of it. I am not a fan of the cold & snow.
