The noise was a single mouse trapped in the air vent

When my wifey and I moved into our current house, the two of us had multiple immense moving trucks with furniture and boxes.

The trucks delivered all of the items to our home.

It took all day to unload both of the trucks. While the crew was toiling, the front door was open. The people I was with and I did not have the a/c running at all. It was a easily hot and humid day. After the movers finished unloading the boxes, my wifey and I turned on the a/c to cool down the house. The people I was with and I started unpacking boxes in the master dining room. I heard the strangest sound coming from the air vents in the dining room. It sounded enjoy tiny little footsteps walking on metal. I grabbed a screwdriver from the laundry section and I unattachd the cover from the vent. I saw multiple tiny eyes in the corner of the vent. I noticed the creature instantly as a mouse. I did not know how the mouse got into the ventilation system, however my wifey and I had an inspection performed before the two of us bought the current home and there were no signs of any pest problems in the air duct or not home. After I coached the mouse out of the air vent, I used a flashlight to look at all of the air vents. I did not see any other signs of mice or rodents, but I thought it was best to call an exterminator. The exterminator checked every square footage of the current home and did not find any other problems in the air duct. The exterminator felt that the mouse easily came into the current home when the two of us had all of the doors open on moving day.
