You can tell that it’s summer, because the temperatures are incredibly hot and humid. Summer and this part of the country last a lot longer than 3 months. It starts to get really hot during the day in the beginning of April. It doesn’t cool down until November. I think the hurricane season lasts until November. That’s because the water is very warm off the coast. The temperatures and the water are warm and that makes for a very deadly combination. This month I’ve had to use the air conditioner all day and all night. I had a tune-up at the beginning of the summer season, but I already had to call for a repair as well. The air conditioner is 6 years old and it isn’t as energy-efficient as it was when it was brand new. I noticed some issues with the air conditioner and I scheduled a tune-up. When the same issues were occurring again, I contacted the repair service. That was 2 weeks ago. We still have at least another month or two before I can even begin to think about turning off the air conditioner during the day. I’m not sure the system is going to make it that long, but I have my fingers crossed. I’m not going to replace the AC until after the summer season is over, because I know the summer rates are a lot higher than the off-season prices. I honestly hope that the AC will last as long as possible. It would be great to have a few months to save for the purchase, and then I could have the new machine installed during winter.
