Can I take back what I said to the HVAC technician?

She got him on the phone and said I was on speaker

Last week, the HVAC technician was at the house making repairs to my new furnace. I didn’t even need the furnace right now, but I wanted the repairs to be made before the prices went up again. I wasn’t being nasty, but I wanted to make sure the furnace was working well when fall arrived. We were still planning on having the inspection done, since we had the maintenance and repair plan, but we wanted repairs done now. I knew minor repairs were included in the maintenance and repair plan, but I wasn’t sure these were minor repairs. When the HVAC technician told me it was going to cost several hundred dollars to repair the furnace, I was livid. I called him a cheat and a liar, and added a few choice words that should not have been said. Just calling him a cheat and a liar makes me cringe, but I said it, and now I need to apologize. I wanted to know if I couldn’t take back what I said to the HVAC technician, but that wasn’t possible. He and I weren’t the only ones who heard me utter words that were impossible to take back. I called the HVAC company and asked if I could come in and talk to one of the technicians. She asked which one, and I told her I wanted to make a public apology to him and ask his forgiveness. She got him on the phone and said I was on speaker. I was almost in tears before he stopped me. He said he had heard worse for less, and he forgave me indiscretion.
