So when I was a kid, I grew up in the woods. There were so many forts and cool rope swings that my dad and I built together. It was such an amazing way to grow up. I don’t think I spent much time inside the central air conditioning of the house I grew up in. I slept in the air conditioning and ate in the HVAC but the rest of the time, I wanted to be outside. So after college, I ended up taking a job in the city. It was a big deal sort of job in a downtown office building. I can remember being blown away that there was a thermostat inside the conference room. I met someone a few years later and we decided to get married and start a family. Neither of us were wild about the idea of raising a kid inside the city. So we were able to transfer to satellite offices. Still though, it wasn’t like growing up in the woods. However, we had a nice back yard with three enormous oak trees. When my oldest was about 6, we started on the tree house. That was a while back now and that tree house has taken on a life of its own. I think I spend more time up there than any of the kids. In fact, I just had the HVAC professionals install a ductless heat pump in the tree house. I wired that thing years ago. So why not enjoy some air conditioning during the Summer, right? Even my wife had gotten onboard. She used to roll her eyes at me but now loves the hanging out in the most decked out tree house ever.
