I have been really stressed out with work lately. I work for a local HVAC company that offers 24/7 house calls. I work in the call center and as soon as a house call comes in, I have to go out to the house and make sure the customer is happy. This doesn’t sound like it would be that stressful, but I have been going on these house calls at three in the morning lately. I don’t know what is going on in our town, but everyone seems to be having HVAC issues in the middle of the night. I thought the first call was just a random occurrence, but it has been happening every few days. I talked to my boss about changing the policy and no longer doing 24/7 house calls, but he said that was how we got most of our repeat business. Most customers are so happy that we can come out to their house whenever they have an issue with their HVAC units right away that they will use our company again. I am glad that we have business, but I think my boss would do something differently if he was the one that had to go out to these houses in the middle of the night to fix HVAC units. I don’t think he would be too happy about it either. I am not sure how much longer I can keep doing this because it is really starting to affect my sleeping. Hopefully business slows down soon!
