My sister and I went to the beach on tuesday.
We stopped at the grocery store and picked up some subs to put in the cooler. I got turkey with lettuce and tomato and swiss cheese. My sister got an Italian sub with pepperoni, salami, and ham. Both subs were expertly made by the people at the deli with all of the condiments and fresh vegetables that we wanted. We got to the beach around 11:00 a.m. it was a tuesday, so it wasn’t entirely difficult to find parking. We didn’t have to walk very far to get to a nice spot on the beach. There was a lot of sun and a cool breeze. I laid down on a blanket and my sister went to grab some drinks from the soda vendor back by the parking lot. My sister didn’t come back for a while, but I thought she was coming right back. I closed my eyes and fell asleep, but my sister did not return until 2 hours later. She ran into a guy from high school and they hit it off and talked for a long time. By the time my sister got back, I was absolutely and totally sunburned. I wanted to leave as soon as she came back. I tried to move my arms and they were stiff. I barely made it home. The front seat felt like I was sitting on a bed of nails. I went inside and turned on the air conditioner to the lowest temperature possible. I laid down on my bed under the air conditioner vent and I let the cool air make my hot skin feel better. I laid there under the air conditioning for at least an hour before I felt strong enough to take a shower.
