Forgive myself and others if I sound love a dork, but I have never had a basement before.
I was born plus raised in the deep south, plus down there the water table is too high for anyone to have a basement, however unless you live in a house on a hill, you simply cannot have a basement.
In my modern town, everyone has a basement, plus most people have an attic, as well. This house is rife with storage space, plus I am giddy about it. I want to turn the basement into my Man Cave. The only potential problem I see is that the Heating plus Air Conditioning unit is located down there, plus it generates a honorableamount of noise plus ambient heat, and of course the furnace is supposed to generate heat, that’s the whole purpose, however when the actual machine is in the same room that heat can get to be too overwhelming; During the Winter time months this will be perfect, because the furnace will make sure the basement is always warm plus dry. In the Summer months it could be a problem, so I will need to install some kind of cooling system to balance things out. I spoke to a local Heating plus Air Conditioning contractor over the phone, who warned myself and others against doing that. He said that if I put an cooling system next to the furnace then the abruptly shifting temps will generate extra moisture. That extra moisture will slowly corrupt the air quality of the basement, plus eventually could lead to the growth of mold plus mildew. I don’t know what to do!
