Taking the job was not exactly the most appealing prospect for me. But it was a big life change that I felt I needed to embrace. The idea of leaving for the southern regions just wasn’t all that appealing. I was born and raised up north so the idea of a bunch of air conditioning all summer wasn’t awesome. And I was moving a long way away as well. Essentially, I was trading a gas furnace for a heat pump. Indeed, I was sort of flipping my climates upside down. My whole life, the only HVAC issue that mattered was HVAC Heating. So when I took this job, I knew that this would be the opposite of what I could do expect with HVAC cooling. After some thoughtful consideration, I felt this was a challenge I couldn’t turn my back on. The new office was pretty awesome as it was almost brand new and really well appointed. I could tell that the HVAC was really awesome and that was impressive because the commercial HVAC in the old office wasn’t. I even had a thermostat that controlled my office. Residential HVAC was all about the heat pump. This is the go to residential HVAC message method down here. However, it’s not just the heat you need to worry about. The humidity level just magnifies the way the heat feels. We’re lucky that the heat pump is also balancing the humidity level inside our homes. I learned that the hard way when I left for vacation and turned the air conditioning off. I came home to a lot of mold and mildew I had to clean up.
