Luke was on his way to my house, so I was working on lunch so he could eat once he arrived. My younger brother Luke is a heating and AC specialist. He has been doing this job for the past 5 years, and is thriving. In fact, he was promoted from an installation assistant to a heating and AC specialist in only 2 years. This is because he had past experience working with heating and cooling units before going to college. Our dad is also a heating and AC specialist. Before he retired, he had been on the job for close to 5 decades. During that time, he gave Luke his first summer job at his HVAC company, and even had him working part time during school days. This gave Luke first hand experience working in the HVAC industry. Dad didn’t require him to follow in his footsteps, but Luke was already invested. So, he went to HVAC training to get his certification. Nowadays, you have to go to school, and get the right certification and qualifications before you can be hired by a HVAC company. Then, he applied to a different HVAC company to gain more experience as an installation assistant. They saw his fast grasp on work, so he got to work as a heating and AC specialist. Now, he was on his way to my house to do the annual HVAC maintenance, and we’d catch up. It’s good to have a brother working in the industry because he always advises me on the next way to keep my house comfortable. He is even the one who changed my standard air filters with a HEPA filter a couple of years ago.
