My coworker has a different plan of corporal punishment… She thinks it is a fun and relaxing punishment to take away temperature control in her house; Every one of us were laying down to have brunch together Last year, and she told me a crazy story… Her child got into trouble at college, when he was teasing some of the other kids, then the child is only in eighth grade, but they take that stuff seriously.
- He gained detention from the college, but his mom didn’t guess that was enough.
She decided to take the A/C equipment out of his family room… If you ask me, I thought it seemed a little extreme, especially during the middle of the summer. Every one of us are almost at the end of the college year, and the un-even temperatures outside are incrediblywarmand humid. I would never punish our child by taking away the A/C unit. I don’t have any plan what type of relationship our coworker and her child have, but it does not seem easily healthy. I understand the need to punish your child for awful behavior, but it seems that A/C is no longer a luxury when the outdoor un-even temperatures arewarmenough to cook an egg. The outdoor weather was 78% humidity Last year and the outdoor temperature was 91 degrees. If both of us lived in the middle of the frozen tundra, I wouldn’t take away the heat. I often wonder what the department of children and family would say about the actions, but I don’t want to open a can of worms with our coworkers. I have to work with her everyday, and I need to mind our own business.
