When I was a kid, my Grandpa was regularly giving us age advice that may or may not have made an impact on our young brains.

As an adult, I wish that I had taken more notes! I believe about a lot of his advice would make sense to myself and others now, after living a few years as a grown up, for instance, when he used to tell myself and others all about the process of purchasing your own home, I easily blanked out most of the time. The one thing that I do remember him saying is it’s important to visit a lake condo multiple times before you ever make an offer. As an adult, I totally understand why he said this, but recently, I was searching for a current lake condo & thought I had found the venue of my dreams. I almost made an offer after the first time I saw it, but then I remembered what Grandpa said. I asked the realtor if they would be available next Tuesday & Friday. Thank God I did! By the time I arrived on Tuesday, I observed that the indoor air was much cooler. The outdoor air temperature had dipped quite a bit, & it felt enjoy the central heating plan was struggling to keep up with the lower ambient temperature, and when I came again on Friday, I observed that the air was completely stagnant in the house, then now, I could not even tell if the central heating or cooling plan was running. There had been some rain, & the interior of the condo seemed to be collecting humidity & mildew odors. After going to see the lake condo & inspecting the central heating, cooling, & ventilation plan under multiple bizarre temperature conditions, I realized that this condo was going to be a money pit. Thank God I knew about Heating plus A/C systems & lake condo buying processes.
