Making sure hotels have good heating and cooling units

We are a family who likes to pack up the car and set out on an adventure.

Our family prefers to avoid airplanes for our travel plans.

We travel everywhere we can access by car. There is just too much stress involved with flying. There was a time when air travel was far superior and easier to driving along the highway. That time has passed. I have spent way too much time dealing with canceled flights and enduring problems with Heating and A/C. The airport Heating and Cooling to be adjusted so the temperature was far too cold. Then we’d get on the plane and feel as if could hardly breathe due to the heat and humidity. It just is too aggravating to cross the country by plane. So, we choose to drive!! This has gone well for us so far. Plus, our oldest son is now a licensed driver. He shares the driving time with his father and I. We have one rule. We always book a hotel along the way if the drive is more than eight hours away. The decision on where to stay is directly linked to Heating and A/C. The downtown hotels have been eliminated off the list. I have found that the fancier the hotel, the worse the Heating and A/C unit. Plus, there is seldom the option to open a window if we can’t get the room cool enough. We don’t always stay at expensive hotels. We save money by staying at more economical places on our trip. Our preference has been to stay at hotels that offers modern Heating and A/C components. We check the age and style of heating and cooling unit before we book the room.
