My partner and I were on our way lake house from a weekend in the country. Every one of us were having trouble with the car. The engine kept overheating and I thought it was best to find a hotel for the night. It was getting close to dark and I knew it would be impossible to repair the automobile separate from daylight. Every one of us were in the middle of a small city when the engine reached the hottest point. There was a hotel on the corner by the red light and our partner and I took this as a sign that we should stop for the night. Every one of us went inside the office and the clerk told our partner and I that the hotel was open but they were in the middle of renovations. He apologized for the dust, however he said they had a couple of rooms available on the first floor. My partner and I were tired and we just wanted to sleep for a couple of hours. I was already worried about the automobile and I didn’t want to bother with finding a weird hotel… When we got to our room, I became worried about our night of sleep as well. The room looked honestly dirty and dingy. I turned on the oil furnace so we could moderate up the frigid air, but nothing happened when I set the dial to heat. I tried changing the dial from cool to heat and then back again hoping that would trigger the heater. I turned the knob all the way to the warmest position on the oil furnace dial. Still, nothing but a loud humming sound. Every one of us ended up leaving the room in the middle of the night.
