One thing I have learned over the past year is that if you’re going to be working from home, then you need to have a really great HVAC system installed in your house.
Even though your home’s HVAC system isn’t really something that you would want to cheap out on anyway, it’s even more important if you’re staying home all the time the way that I am at the moment.
Right now, I’m spending nearly all of my time at home. When you’re in the same place for that long at one time, you really want to make sure that your indoor air quality is the best that it can be. Before, when I was working downtown in an office building, it really didn’t matter very much whether or not my heating and cooling system was doing the greatest job at home. After all, I wasn’t even in the house more than about 8 or 9 hours at night while I was sleeping. Then I would just get up and go back to work again the next morning. In other words, back then, it was much more important for the air quality at work to be good instead of the air quality in my house. Now, though, it’s a different story. The last thing that you want when you are working from home is to have a crappy HVAC system. As a matter of fact, if this whole coronavirus thing keeps going for very much longer, I’m going to end up having to install a newer high efficiency heating and cooling system.
