When every one of us were remodeling our beach dwelling this past winter, I got to a particular point where I just didn’t know what to do any longer! We were in desperate need of a designer, in my opinion, but I didn’t undoubtedly have room in my budget to hire a proper one! See, every one of us were putting in a giant great room off the back of our beach dwelling with floor to ceiling windows… The windows would look out over the beach in our backyard.

We were all undoubtedly excited about getting the great room easily completed, but I personally felt a little bit sad about the heating & cooling side of the room… Adding that much extra space onto a beach dwelling will undoubtedly affect the way that our existing Heating, Ventilation, & A/C appliance would function… I started thinking that not only would it not be able to heat & cool the great room well enough, however it would undoubtedly mess up the effectiveness of the heating & cooling in the remainder of the dwelling, too.

I made the choice that I needed to talk to a designer about the necessary placement of our new HVAC ducts & the heating vents in the great room… Not only that, but I was hoping to get an expert opinion on where we should install our new gas fireplace. I wanted the room to look wonderful, but I also wanted it to be extremely comfortable for our family. The indoor air quality levels of the room were extremely important to me, & so I ended up talking to a designer who works at our local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C appliance company & fireplace showroom downtown.
