The last time my central heating and air conditioning system went down, it ended up costing me 3 grand! And only four hundred dollars of that 3 grand was actually spent on the heat and a/c repair! The problem was that when I called the local heating and air conditioning company to send out a certified heat and a/c specialist, they did not have anyone available for 2 days! So I had no choice but to stay at a hotel. But the problem with this was the only hotel that had opening was the 10 star rich people hotel in town which cost nearly a grand a night! Ridiculous! But at least I would be in the best possible indoor comfort with fully working heating as well as air conditioning. Something that I could not have at home and would surely die if I had to stay there without heating and cooling. So in the long run between a few days at the hotel, plus meals and then the actual repair and HVAC home services call I spend a little over 3 grand on the whole thing. All because my central heating and air conditioning system broke down and the local HVAC company was short on heat and a/c workers. A real horrible experience that really hit me hard where it hurts. My bank account! If something like this ever happens again I will have to try to find another heating and air conditioning company that is more staffed. Because I can not be spending thousands of dollars every time my central HVAC unit breaks down! At that rate I could just buy a brand new HVAC!
