There seems to be something inherently askew when the person who’s paying the mortgage can’t find room to relax in their own HVAC.
But that has been so the case for me the last few years.
I finally gave up and got my own space. I live in an all female house. There is my wife and best friend and my 3 daughters. Those daughters used to wait for me by the door when I came home from work when they were little. They couldn’t get enough of daddy back in those days. Now, I’m nothing more than an embarrassment and full on weirdo for some reason. They are pretty merciless when it comes to getting me out of the air conditioned kitchen whenever there are friends afoot. And God forbid, I make an entrance or rest in the quality heating and air of my own house when one of their besties is around. Although, I still make sure that there is plenty of area between my daughters and dudes right now. I can’t imagine what it will be like in a year when my oldest is driving. Finally, I just had to have my own space. So with the help of my sibling, we put some walls up in the basement and had the HVAC supplier come out to install a ductless HVAC. We even put a nice cable in there along with a bar plus a pool table. It’s perfectly air conditioned and we put a sign on the door that there are no youngsters allowed.
