There seems to be something inherently askew when the person who’s paying the mortgage can’t find room to relax in their own air conditioning.
But that has been so the case for me the last few years.
I finally gave up and got my own space. I live in an all female house. There is my partner and best friend and our 3 daughters. Those daughters used to wait for me by the door when I came home from work when they were little. They couldn’t get enough of daddy back in those afternoons. Now, I’m nothing more than an embarrassment and full on weirdo for some reason. They are pretty merciless when it comes to getting me out of the air conditioned living room whenever there are friends afoot. God forbid, I make an entrance or relax in the quality heating and air of our own house when one of their guys is around. Although, I still make sure that there is plenty of space between my daughters and dudes right now. I can’t imagine what it will be like in a year when our oldest is driving. Finally, I just had to have my own space. So with the help of my sibling, we put some walls up in the basement and had the HVAC corporation come out to install a ductless HVAC. We even put a nice TV in there along with a bar and a pool table. It’s perfectly air conditioned and we put a sign on the door that there are no kids allowed.
