It was interesting when our kid first started talking about playing an instrument, he started with playing the saxophone, he got pretty good at it, I might add, and the thing is, he was making all kinds of noise and sometimes late into the night sixths, I decided that we needed to get him a place where he could play his instrument without bothering everybody else in the house.
I ended up cleaning out the garage and making it a suitable section for him to get his practices in.
I had the garage insulated but it was still way too overheated inside of there. I decided to call the HVAC supplier to see what could be done. I was truly thinking we could extend the air duct into there and supply just enough heating and cooling. The HVAC professional cautioned against doing that though because the HVAC plan was not large enough to cover the garage space. He suggested installing a ductless mini split inside of there. He said the ductless mini split would make it perfectly comfortable inside of there in addition to it being highly energy efficient so we wouldn’t have to worry so much about energy spikes on the bill. The guy was right, that ductless mini split works and now our kid even practices with his other friends in the garage. Even though the sound wasn’t truly audible, I ended up soundproofing the garage so we wouldn’t be able to hear anything, unless the two of us decided to go in there to like the tunes. Our kid is a good sax player, now he’s starting up with playing the trombone.
