The local technical school where I have been working for the past five years or so has a lot of great programs for students.
However, the most popular program by far is the heating and cooling certification program that they offer twice a year.
As the heating, ventilation, air conditioning,and air purification systems of today become more and more complex, having a trained and certified HVAC technician is critical to maintaining your home’s indoor air quality. At the technical school where I work, they take their HVAC training program very seriously. This HVAC training program will prepare students for entry level employment as an HVAC technician. Sometimes people in the industry call these new hires HVAC mechanics or HVAC installers. They have all the knowledge that they need whenever they graduate, but they simply lack experience. With this HVAC certification program, students learn computerized diagnostics so that they can service gas furnaces, heat pumps, and different types of air conditioning systems once they graduate. Our HVAC program graduates hundreds of students each year and they are always well prepared for real life experiences because of the lessons that they learned at our technical school. Once they get out into the workforce with local residential HVAC companies or commercial HVAC companies,they get all sorts of experiences and most of them do really well in their chosen career path. As a matter of fact,the last time my electric furnace went on the blink in my house, the HVAC technician who showed up to fix it was one of our recent graduates. I was excited to see him and see how he was doing out in the real world.
