There’s a really strange smell that keeps showing up in our house whenever the heating system turns on these days.

I really don’t know what the issue is, but I have to figure it out soon because I’m going to be hosting a party here soon and I don’t want to have to worry about it at that point.

I have been looking up some things online about different reasons that there might be strange smells coming from the heating vents in our house. So far, I have found that smells in the ductwork might be caused by a variety of different things. Mold and mildew is one thing that might happen to your ductwork. Of course, this would be easily fixed by having a professional HVAC technician or ductwork cleaning company come out to professionally clean out your air vents and ductwork. Another reason that might not be such an easy fix is that you may have an animal or rodent living in your air ducts. If this happens to be the case, then you’re looking at having to call an exterminator to fix the animal control problem, plus you will have to have an HVAC technician come out to check for damage to your ductwork afterward. One other thing that I read about was that a plumbing leak current issue could also cause a weird smell to come from your heating vents. I can only hope that it’s not that! I think that plumbing leaks are the worst thing of all! I would much rather have to catch a rodent then have to deal with some sort of sewage leak.
