It was a changing of the guard that was more than 20 years in the making.
- Actually, it was 24 years almost to the day that we had the old HVAC unit installed.
That sort of bends my brain a bit to consider just how quickly a quarter of the century has slipped away. Still, it’s a fact and I have to say that I’m quite impressed with how much value we were able to get out of our old HVAC unit. Through all the seasons we owned it, that HVAC unit never let us down. When we bought that HVAC equipment, it was the best we could buy in residential HVAC. And it certainly showed us just why given its spotless track record. Indeed, it didn’t hurt at all that we were always consistent when it came to seasonal HVAC maintenance. I don’t think we ever missed a heating maintenance appointment in the fall. And we always followed up with an air conditioning tune-up in the spring. Having seen the effects of that HVAC maintenance, I am the first one to attest to the fact that there is great value in HVAC service. I will admit to a strange bit of melancholy when it came to replacing the old HVAC unit recently. Seeing it tossed in the back of the HVAC company truck like so much junk was sort of tough to see. I hope it gets recycled into another great HVAC unit for another family to use for 24 years. While I love all the HVAC technology that replaced the old HVAC unit, I do salute that thing and am thankful to have had it.
