Before the summer season began, I knew I needed to make some updates and changes in the cabin.
My family and friends and I have been using the cabin for 10 years.
It belonged to my grandfather and he left it to me when he passed away. I let everyone use the cabin because there is no need to keep it to myself. I visit the location once a month and more frequently during the summer seasons. Last summer I spent nearly every weekend at the cabin. Before summer began, I decided to add a new air conditioner to the cabin. My grandfather never had a central AC in the small dwelling, so I had to get a contractor out there to do the job. The contractor suggested a ductless cooling system might work out better than a central AC unit. Since the cabin was small and only one story, it was easier to cool with a single ductless system. That ductless air conditioner was also less expensive than a traditional central cooling unit. I didn’t have to pay for any additional ductwork to be installed since the air conditioner is completely ductless. After I installed the new AC system, I also decided to make some updates to the bathroom. It didn’t have a shower at all and I was tired of taking a bath every time I wanted to clean up after fishing. I hired a plumbing contractor to completely remodel the bathroom. Everyone was happy with the changes, especially after I added radiant heated flooring for the winter months.
