The woodpecker put holes in my AC hood

My wife and I live in an RV and we travel across the country visiting new places all the time.

We’ve seen 40 different states as well as a hundred different National and state parks.

Some of my favorite places to visit are the mountains and the beach. When I can visit both at the same time, it is a real treat. There are only a few places in the country where you can see Mountains and the beach at the same time. Most of those areas are on the West Coast. My wife and I have been on the west coast for the past six months. We haven’t had a lot of problems during that time, except for a few minor issues with the air conditioner. We noticed a strange sound one day and it seemed to be coming from the area where the air conditioner is located. I went outside to look on the roof and I saw a woodpecker. The woodpecker was putting holes in the plastic hood that covers our air conditioner unit. I couldn’t understand why the Woodpecker was trying to poke holes in the plastic. There was no food behind the plastic to intrigue the bird. The woodpecker continued to poke holes for 30 or 40 minutes. I finally climbed up to the top of the RV to shoo the woodpecker away from my air conditioner. My wife and I have been on the road for a long time, but this is the first time we ever had a bird try to attack our air conditioning system.
