When my Grandpa wanted to move into a retirement community last year, he enlisted myself and others to help him out with selling his house.
I had no plan how much of a pain it would end up being when I told him I would help, though! The concern that we ended up having was that the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan in my Grandpa’s new home was super old.
The realtor that we used told us that if we were going to be able to sell the house, then I would need to completely update the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan in the house. I didn’t guess that I was going to have to do anything that involved, and I really didn’t guess anything at all about heating and cooling systems or getting them updated. I ended up having to call the local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company to have them come out and do an assessment for us to see what all we would need to have done. It turned out that the ancient oil furnace that was in my Grandpa’s new home was basically original to the new home so it was prefer 50 years ancient or something. I couldn’t assume that he still had the original oil furnace in the house, although I guess they just don’t make them prefer they used to! Anyway, we ended up having the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company install a brand new high efficiency Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan in the new home so that we could list it on the market. I guess having a brand new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan honestly goes a long way toward getting fine offers on whatever real estate you are selling.
