Whenever my mom was really sick last year, my older brother ended up getting a job so that he could help her out with the bills.
I was younger than him and so I was really watching him to see what his example was. It was a great example, too! He didn’t have to do it, but he decided that he was going to get a job to help out my mom and she didn’t even know it at first. He saved up enough money to pay the heating and cooling bills for her and she was so happy about it that she cried. My brother was really proud of himself for being able to pay the heating and cooling bills for my mom and so he decided to keep on doing it. It was the middle of the winter at that point and so we were running the furnace way more than normal. I remember that my mom was super worried about how high the heating bills were going to be. My brother just told our mom not to worry about it and that he would pay for the heating bills for the rest of the winter. My mom was so relieved and I was really happy at that point that we were all pitching in to get through a hard time in our family. Anyway, my brother was really great about it and even though it’s been a while, my brother has decided to keep his job. He said that since he’s getting older, he feels like he should keep on paying some of the bills in the house. The one that he has decided to keep paying is the heating and cooling bill.
